Here's the rules:
Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. Here's how you can do a screen capture:
1. Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
2.Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V). If you wish, you can “edit” the image before saving it.
3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.
4. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktops as well.
Puppies because, well, I like puppies. [shuffle/blush] I used to have this gorgeous drawing someone did after Order of the Phoenix came out, with everyone sitting on a hill looking off into the distance and a poem called "He Is Not Dead, He's Just Away." (Or at least, that was one of the lines I recall.) It was a tribute to Sirius after his death and I loved it, but when my system crashed I lost it and didn't remember where I'd gotten it. :( Jim sent me this one and it was adorable so I've used it ever since.
Lots of icons because I hate digging through menus for things I use a lot. (Or used to use a lot. My desktop housekeeping is about as up-to-date as my house housekeeping. [duck]) Games on the right, functional stuff on the left, folders I use a lot across the top, files I use a lot or just want to keep right to hand across the left side and bottom. With a few things just sort of parked because that's where they landed and I haven't gotten around to deleting or stashing them yet. (Lousy housekeeping again.)
Minimized windows are Firefox Gmail, Firefox LJ, an Adobe e-book, a folder for a series of stories I'm working on, the story I'm actually working on, and... [squint] a spare Word file that's just sitting there, no clue why. [bemused smile]
Whoever feels like doing it can do it. :)
